The Medavie Blue Cross Half Marathon takes participants on a 21.1-kilometre (13.1 miles) adventure through the vibrant streets of Halifax, Nova Scotia. This scenic route allows you to experience several of Halifax’s main attractions including Citadel Hill, Point Pleasant Park and the beautiful downtown core.
From our vibrant and enthusiastic cheering stations to the “Giv’er Crew” who will help you up and over the hills, to the people of Halifax cheering you on – we know that this half marathon will be like nothing you have ever experienced.

Distance: 21.1 KM
Start line is located on Sackville Street, near Queen. Participants will head down Bell Road towards Robie Street. After a loop around the Halifax Commons, participants will head North on Agricola, enjoying the picturesque North End of Halifax. After going DOWN Devonshire Ave, participants will make their way back downtown via Barrington Street, onto Valour Road. From here, participants will continue onto Upper Water Street, Hollis street and eventually, Inglis Street where they will begin their descent on Point Pleasant Park where they will spend approximately 4 kilometres enjoying the sights and sounds of this wooded park. From here, participants will head back from the park towards Sackville street and turn right onto Cogswell Street to approach the finish on Brunswick Street in front of the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site.
