2010 Street Closure Information
The Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon returns again this year on the Victoria Day Holiday Weekend - Friday, May 21 to Sunday, May 23, 2010.
Race weekend kicks off with the Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run on Saturday, May 22, with all other 'adult' events taking place on Sunday, May 23.
You're invited to take part in the celebrations - cheer on the runners, lend a hand as a volunteer, or lace up your sneakers and giv'er!
Starting and finishing near the old Town Clock on Brunswick Street, the route will showcase Halifax and Dartmouth's beautiful landmarks, historic downtown streets, and scenic parks.
Over 10,000 runners, walkers and volunteers will participate in race weekend events. As a result, some intermittent traffic delays in your neighbourhood are expected.
Street closures will include:
Saturday, May 22
7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Brunswick Street, between Duke and Sackville Streets, both directions
Sunday May 23
900 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Macdonald Bridge, both directions
Sunday, May 23
5:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Brunswick Street, between Duke and Sackville Streets, both directions
Point Pleasant Park and Shubie Park will also be components of the race route on Sunday May 23, but will remain open to the public.
